Japanese Visitors/Interviews
Visit on Thursday, September 14 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. There are a total of 10, including Professor Mimura and his 7 graduate students, and Mari Lancaster, interpreter and Daryll who will be visiting. The purpose of the visit is to hear a brief overview of the Guerneville Unified School District and there are several elementary school pre-and in-service teachers. They would be interested in TK and Kindergarten and the After School Program. If there is a student teacher during the time of the visit they would like to observe his/her class and to talk with the student teacher. Since practice teaching is limited in the four year undergraduate education program, they would like to learn more about student teaching. Professor Mimura is interested in how teachers choose to become administrators and how they become administrators. They would like to have time for classroom observation. If time is an issue, we could divide into two groups, one group of 4 students in the elementary age group and 3 students in the middle school age group (i.e., home economics and social studies).
